EF-1 Tornado Confirmed in Largo, Florida: Over 60 Homes Affected
On Wednesday evening, June 25, 2025, the National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Pinellas County, specifically in the city of Largo. The tornado formed near Ulmerton and Belcher Roads, bringing with it peak winds of 90 miles per hour.
The twister remained on the ground for eight minutes, cutting a 2.11-mile path with a width of 100 yards. It left significant damage in its wake, especially within the mobile home communities of Ranchero Village and Bay Ranch.
Mobile Homes Lifted, Dozens Damaged
Shocking footage captured by local resident Lori Gill showed the tornado forcefully lifting a mobile home off the ground and flipping it before dropping it back down. A 76-year-old woman inside the home miraculously survived with only minor injuries, although her pet cat remains missing.
Largo Fire Rescue reported that approximately 40 to 50 homes in Ranchero Village were damaged, along with an additional 10 to 15 homes in nearby Bay Ranch. Aerial footage from SkyFOX on Thursday morning confirmed the widespread destruction.

Storm damage was also reported in Pinellas Park and other surrounding areas, with emergency crews responding promptly to assess structural damage and assist residents.
